ACE Production Technologies has scheduled its next selective soldering workshop for September 18-19, 2012, at the ACE headquarters and factory in Spokane. Reservations are currently being accepted.

Like previous workshops, the event will be a comprehensive hands-on two-day workshop designed to educate and enhance an attendee’s working knowledge of the selective soldering process. The workshops were instituted in response to many requests from customers and friends.

Well-known process expert Bob Klenke of ITM Consulting conducts the classroom portion of the workshop, which is intended to be the right combination of instruction and hands-on experience. Hand-outs and reference materials are also provided. Hands-on demonstrations and instruction are provided by ACE Process Development Engineers. Klenke is ITM's resident wave soldering and selective soldering expert with more than 15 years of direct hands-on experience with selective soldering technology. He focuses on process optimization, process troubleshooting, and value-added defect resolution strategies.

“Since the workshop is separated into both classroom and hands-on sessions, you get the best of both types of training,” commented Larry Davis, attendee at the most recent workshop. “It’s very interactive with the instructors and attendees talking about specific problems and solutions that have worked for them in the past…This interaction among the attendees was much more valuable than I expected.”

The cost is $1,500 per attendee, which includes transportation from and to the airport, three nights at the nearby Oxford suites hotel, and breakfast, lunch, and dinner on the workshop days. Space is limited; prospective attendees are encouraged to book early.
