Quanta to Lead Taiwan's Notebook Manufacturing Industry

In the third quarter, Quanta is expected to ship 15.4 million notebooks, leading Taiwan's notebook manufacturing industry, with Compal to ship 11.7 million units, Wistron 7.6 million and Inventec 4.1 million units, according to latest research from Digitimes Research.

Compal Wins Nearly 50% of Acer 2011 NB Orders

Taiwan-based notebook maker Compal Electronics has landed close to 50% of Acer's notebook orders for 2011--making Compal the largest notebook supplier for Acer for the next year, according to a Chinese-language Economical Daily News (EDN) report.

Acer has completed its notebook outsourcing plans for 2011 with Compal Electronics landing 25 million units and Wistron 15 million units, accounting for 50% and 30% of Acer's total orders, according to a Chinese-language Economical Daily News (EDN) report.
